1. WELCOME: Welcome to Ladies on the Links 2010 !  It is the mission of LOL to provide a seasonal golf league for women golfers of all abilities to meet and be mentored by other women golfers, improve knowledge and skills, play the game in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere, and most of all HAVE FUN!
2. REGISTER: All players need to register and pay the $35 annual membership fee online at www.golfacademyvc.com, and please give an honest estimate of your flight. Just because you have registered, does not mean you have signed up for a tee time each week. To do this, you will need to log in to your LOL home page and click on "Tee Times."
3. SIGN UP WEEKLY: Sign up for play will open on the website ONE WEEK before the league night. Every player must register for a tee time on the website at least three days before their league night by logging on to the LOL website and clicking on "Tee Times." ALSO, we aske that you do not play with the same group of players for more than two weeks in a row...a part of our LOL mission is to meet other golfers and not play with the same players every week of the season.
4. NEED TO CANCEL? You can cancel yourself by logging in to your homepage on LOL and clicking on "View My League Dates." If tee times have been posted (finalized) then you must notify Christina Ball in writing by emailing CBall@EagleGolf.com. You can cancel right up until your actual tee time so that you will avoid a $5 No Show penalty on your next league night as well as losing 3 points from your season points total.
5. ARRIVE ON TIME: Before each league night at Los Robles, every player MUST register and pay in the pro shop at least 30 minutes before their tee time. If you are running late, please call the golf shop at 805-495-6421 ext 2. ALSO, be ready to have your pairing switched so we can fill in all the gaps for foursomes.
6. WHAT A DEAL! Prices were REDUCED last year... $18 to walk, $23 to ride - regardless of residency. Walkers who don't have a cart rider with whom to hitch hike out to their starting hole, should get an early start heading out to their starting hole.
7. SCRAMBLE IT UP: LOL uses a Team Scramble Format on Mondays... This is a fun, low stress format where all players in a group tee off and then select the best shot. Now all players hit from this spot and then select the best shot, where all players hit from again. This format is followed all the way until the first putt goes into the hole and one team score is achieved. In year's past, we have used different formats like Play Your Own Ball on the Par Three's etc, but to simplify things and speed up play, we will only be using the Team Scramble format every night on every hole.
8. CALLING ALL CAPTAINS: For the Monday night Scramble, there will be an A or B Flight player who will be designated as group Captain, and who will be responsible for keeping score, mentoring players about good etiquette and making sure the group keeps up their pace of play. Captains will receive an extra point, and there will be a reward for Captain point totals at the end of the season. There can only be one Captain designated per group and it should be noted on the score card.
9. THREE PLAYERS IN A GROUP:  When you only have three players in your group, you will need to rotate one player on each hole who will hit an extra shot for that entire hole to make up for having one less player in your group. (ie: Player A hits two shots all the way down number one, Player B hits two shots all the way down number two, etc)
10. SCORECARDS: All score cards must be signed & turned into the scoring box located in the Club Express Bar and Grill immediately after play with each player's legible full name and correct flight listed on the card...(as you know, players and groups may get switched before play...and this is the only way we know who played in which group.)
11.

WHAT'S THE POINT? Each team score will be handicapped in a way that is fair for every group and player:

  • 0 strokes for every A player in the group
  • 0 strokes for all B flight players in the group
  • -1 stroke for every C player in the group
  • -2 strokes for every D player in the group.

WHAT'S THE SECOND POINT? Points will be put into the website during the week and any discrepancies must be corrected before the next league night, otherwise all scores and points will be final.

WHAT'S THE THIRD POINT? Individual players receive 5 points for 1st place team score, 4 points for 2nd place, 3 points for 3rd place, 3 points for participating, 5 points for closest to pin, 5 points for long drive, 1 point for being a Captain (only one player can be designated Captain in each group and it should be noted on the scorecard)

WHAT'S THE FOURTH POINT?  Eagle Bonus Rewards Points are given to the top three teams as well as the long drive and closest to pin winners in each flight...these points add up quickly for a free round of non-league golf in the future.

12. GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK: A & B flight players may play the ball off the grass with preferred lies (put the ball on a nice tuft of grass); while C & D flights may tee the ball up any where at any time (bunkers included) !  D flight players tee off from the forward tees each week.
13. SIGNAGE: If you notice that the closest to pin signs or long drive signs are not out on the course...then please call the golf shop immediately and someone will bring them out (only happens in a Perfect Storm...if Christina, Sally, and Curtis happen to all have the same night off !)
14.

CLOSEST TO PIN: Even if your ball doesn't end up on the green on a par three closest to pin hole, you should put your name down on the sign as it may eventually end up being the closest to the hole (especially C and D flights).

LONG DRIVE: In order to be eligible for a longest drive, your shot must end up in the fairway. Long drives that end up in the rough, are not eligible.

15.

LONG DRIVE HOLE: On front nine, the longest drive hole will always be #4...On back nine, the longest drive will always on on #14.

CLOSEST TO PIN HOLES:  There will be contest signs for all flights on all par three holes on both the front and back nines.

16. PRACTICE SWINGS: You are allowed one practice swing per shot. Period. End of sentence. We may institute a $1 penalty for every extra practice swing...and put it in the naughty girl fund.
17. YOU'VE GOT TO MOVE IT OR LOSE IT: In the event that your group is not keeping pace with group in front of you, then two players should hit at the same time from the tee and then out in fairway and then on putting green (you get the idea, keep it moving, be safe, and mostly have fun !!) Pace of play is a HUGE issue for this league...please listen to your Captain when she says "Let's pick up the pace of play girls !"
18. SPEAKING OF FLIGHTS: If you think someone that you have played with is in the incorrect flight (should be up a flight or down a flight...), then shoot an email to CBall@EagleGolf.com...once we have enough "ammunition" on a player, we will make a flight change for them.
19. PYOB DIVISION: There will be four Play Your Own Ball Nights on Thursdays in 2010...see schedule to sign up. Players must pick up when their score has reached double par (10 on par 5's, 8 on par 4's, 6 on par 3's). This division will learn to play by the rules, but please remember this is a learning or developmental league and advice on proper rules and etiquette should be given and taken in a friendly and helpful manner. No "Rules Nazi's" allowed! When in doubt, drop a ball nearest the spot where it was lost/OB/in hazard and add a stroke to the mess and move on! Rules clinics will be provided, look for announcements.
20. AWARDS BARBECUE: Player points will be totaled the last league night in September, and prizes for top point achievers in all flights will be awarded Monday, October 4th at the Awards Barbecue
21. PRETTY IN PINK: All league participants will receive a pink league card which can be used for drink discounts after play (social gathering after play is highly encouraged !)
